AmarDashboard is software that shops in Bangladesh use to run their counter and to sell online. This page says what we hold about you, why, who else can see it, and how long we keep it. It covers people who buy from a shop on our marketplace, and the owners and staff who run a shop on the dashboard. Where we say “we”, we mean AmarDashboard, operated from Bogura, Bangladesh.
If you buy from a shop
To place an order you give us:
- Your name and mobile number, so the shop can call you to confirm.
- Your delivery address and, where the shop offers fixed areas, the area you picked.
- What you ordered, the price, any promo code, and any note you wrote.
- Your bKash transaction number if you paid that way. We never see or hold your bKash PIN, and the money goes to the shop, not to us.
If you create an account we also keep your email address and password, and, if you choose to save them, your name, phone number, delivery address and town so the next checkout is prefilled. Your password is stored only as a hash by our login provider; neither we nor any shop can read it. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name and email address and nothing else.
Your cart and wish list are never sent to us. They stay in your own browser until you place an order.
When you review a product we publish the name you typed, your rating and your words on that product’s page. We keep the phone number from the order with the review, so we can tell a real buyer from a fake one; it is never shown.
If you run a shop
- Your business name, category, outlets and their addresses, your contact name and number, and your bKash number if you take payments that way.
- Login details for you and each staff account you create.
- Everything you record in the dashboard: products, stock, purchases and suppliers, sales, customers you add, dues, repairs and expenses.
- Your plan, fee, payment history and the phone numbers you turn notifications on for.
What it is used for
- Passing your order to the shop you bought from, and showing you its progress on your order page.
- Sending SMS about your order: received, confirmed, delivered or cancelled, to the number on the order and nothing else.
- Letting a shop see its own sales, stock, customers and dues, and message its own customers in its own name.
- Support and repairs. When a page breaks, we record the error, the page address, and which account was signed in, so we can fix it.
- Billing reminders to shop owners, and alerts to us when something on the platform stops working.
We do not sell your information, we do not show advertising, and we run no advertising or analytics trackers on the site.
Who can see it
- The shop you ordered from sees your name, number, address, order and note, because it has to deliver. Each shop is responsible for how it treats that information, and its own policy is shown on its product pages.
- Our own staff can see the records of every shop on the platform, in order to set shops up, answer support questions and keep the service running. Every such action is logged.
- Anyone with your order link. Your order page and, for shop customers, your account statement page are protected only by the link. Do not forward them.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf and may only use it for that: our website host, our database and login provider, our email sender, the SMS gateway that carries order messages, and the push notification service run by Google or Apple for your phone. Some run servers outside Bangladesh, so your information may be processed abroad.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
Cookies and your browser
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. What we do use:
- A sign-in cookie so you stay logged in. Deleting it logs you out.
- A note of your chosen language and delivery town, so the site opens the way you left it.
- Browser storage for your cart and wish list, and a note that you dismissed the install banner.
- For shop staff, a copy of the product list and any sales recorded while the internet was down. That copy stays on the device and is cleared when you sign out, except for sales still waiting to be sent, which are kept until they go through.
How long we keep it
Orders and sales are business records. A shop keeps them for as long as it uses AmarDashboard, because it needs them for stock, warranty and its accounts. When a shop leaves the platform we delete everything it recorded, including its customer records, after giving the owner a full copy. You can ask us to delete your buyer account at any time and we will, though an order that was delivered stays in that shop’s own records. SMS and email that we send are logged for a short time so we can see whether they arrived.
Your choices
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Use the contact details below.
- Order without an account. A name, number and address are all a shop needs.
- Turn phone notifications off at any time in your phone’s settings or in the app.
- Order SMS go only to the number on that order and stop when the order is closed. Shops may also message customers they have added at the counter, in the shop’s own name; tell the shop if you do not want them.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted. A shop can only read its own records, and that is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app. Staff accounts see less than owners. Passwords are hashed and never stored as typed. No system is perfect: if we ever find that your information has been exposed we will tell you and the affected shops promptly.
Age
AmarDashboard is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, such as a new kind of data or a new recipient, we say so on the site before it takes effect.
